"content_html": "<center><img src=\"http://www.lettresnumeriques.be/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Clarisse-Bardiot.png\" align=\"middle\" style=\"width:30%;height:30%;\"></center>\r\n<center><h3><i>Arts de la scène et Culture Analytics</i></h3></center>\r\n<br>While stage arts have widely questioned \"new\" technologies from an aesthetical point of view, the application of the these latter on the former ones study is a nascent phenomenon. The digital humanities could be the flag of new scientific perspectives for stage arts studies as it is for other domains? After an overview on the \"two waves\" (Presner, 2010) of digital humanities in the field of theatrical studies, I will analyze more specifically the possibilities given by <i>Culture analytics</i>, that is the data oriented analyse of culture. Starting from the methodologies experimented in the <i>Culture Analytics</i> program at UCLA, I will show the several possibilities in studying, analyzing and documentation in a \"medium data\" context.\r\n<br>\r\n<br><small>PhD holder on <i>Les Théâtres virtuels</i> (Paris 3/CNRS, \r\n2005), Clarisse Bardiot is associate professor of the University of Valenciennes (DeVisu lab) and associated researcher of the ArtSciLab Experimental Publishing Initiative lab directed by Roger Malina at Texas University in Dallas. In 2005, she obtained the visiting researcher grant at Daniel Langlois Foundation in Montreal for a research on <i>9 Evenings, Theatre & Engineering \r\n</i>. After that she participated in the international project DOCAM. In 2011, she created <b>Subjectile</b>, a publishing house devoted to the contemporary creation, focused on paper and digital publishing. In 2016, she was selected to participate in the \"culture analytics\" long terme program at the Institue for Applied mathematics of the University of California in Los Angeles. She's developing <i>Rekall</i> and <i>MemoRekall</i>, an environment and an open source webapp to documenting, creation processes analyzing and simplifying works reshowing. \r\nHer research axes are history and digital performances aesthetics, digital humanities, art / science / technology relations, digital works conservation, and new publishing forms.</small>\r\n<br>\r\n<br>Organized by the <b>Canada research Chair on Digital Textualities</b> and the <b>CRIHN - \r\nIntercollegiate Research Center on Digital Humanities</b>.\r\n<br>\r\n<br>\r\n<center><video width=\"640\" height=\"480\" controls>\r\n <source src=\"https://archive.org/download/clarisse-bardiot-culture-analytics_201702/conf_bardiot.mp4\" type=\"video/mp4\">\r\nThe round table recording is available on the Archive.org <a href=\"https://archive.org/details/clarisse-bardiot-culture-analytics\">Chair account</a>.\r\n</video></center>",

"content_html": "<img src=\"http://i.imgur.com/ez61TA1.jpg\".jpg />\r\n<p>\r\nSubsequent to the experiment <a href=\"http://ecrituresnumeriques.ca/en/Activities/Events/2016/11/18/Twitter-and-Philosophy\" target=_blank\">« Twitter and Philosophy »</a>, led with the cooperation of the Canada Research Chair on Digital Textualities on November and December 2016, Adriano Fabris will discuss about the experiment's outcomes and his reflections on Twitter and Social Networks.\r\n</p>\r\n<p>\r\nIn this conference, I would discuss some issues related to the Internet communication: is the ethics' basic set of problems completely changed? Are the fundamental questions still valable nowadays? On the other hand, which are the newest ethics questions about this mass communication instrument? Are we facing an expression's freedom empowerment? Thanks to Internet, are we more and more free, or is it developing new formes of control, domination, and power? "content_html": "<img src=\"http://g8fip1kplyr33r3krz5b97d1.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/GettyImages-628655648-714x489.jpg\" />\r\n<p>\r\n\r\nAccording to the <i>Oxford dictionary</i> the word of the year 2016 is <i>Post-truth</i>, defined as an adjective «relating to or denoting circumstances in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeals to emotion and personal belief.»\r\n</p>\r\n<p>The <i>Brexit</i> and the Donald Trump election to the presidency of the U.S. have been the occasions were the terme <i>Post-truth</i> was mostly used, especially referring to the circulation of fake news on social networks. This has been possible because of the lack of a final authority confirming the truth of these news.\r\n</p>\r\n<p>Is this lack a structural component of the Web? Is it true that there is no authority in the Web? What is authority on the Web? What happens to truth in the social networks age? It is an opportunity to debate on digital-oriented theories, methods and practices. The purpose is to critically exchange and discuss on these themes in order to let the public opinion be more aware of the digital culture.\r\n</p>\r\n<p>\r\nThese meetings want themselves to be a bridge between human sciences and digital players. />\r\n\r\n<p>Grâce à l’intervention de nombreux chercheurs et praticiens du numérique, et en adoptant chaque année une grille de lecture particulière (la notion de profil l’année dernière, les dynamiques d’élaboration et de circulation des savoirs l’année précédente, ou encore les écritures numériques avec une approche littéraire), notre séminaire a questionné la notion d’éditorialisation et à évaluer l’étendue de ses implications.</p>\r\n<p>L’ayant défini comme l’ensemble des opérations, dispositifs, acteurs ou médiations nécessaires à l’intégration et la valorisation des ressources au sein de l’environnement numérique, nous nous sommes plus particulièrement intéressés à l’interaction entre contenus (ou des ressources), environnement technique (réseau, serveurs, plateformes, CMS, algorithmes, moteurs de recherche…), aspects formels et structurels (hypertexte, multimédia, métadonnées) et pratiques (annotation, commentaires, recommandations)….</p>\r\n<p>D’année en année, le séminaire a élargi l’acception du mot, allant jusqu’à lui conférer une dimension ontologique, en considérant que l’éditorialisation permet de penser l’espace numérique et plus largement de renouveler une pensée de la production du réel.</p>\r\n<p>Nous cherchons désormais à poursuivre l’exploration de ces processus d’édition ouverts dans l’espace et le temps, pour mieux comprendre comment ils renouvellent l’élaboration et la transmission des savoirs.</p>\r\n<p>Parmi les différents enjeux que nous souhaitons interroger, la place des usagers dans les processus d’éditorialisation fera l’objet d’une attention particulière. Quels sont les nouveaux rapports entre individus, collectifs et producteurs de contenus (entreprises, institutions, développeurs etc.) ? Qu’est-ce qui relève encore d’une maîtrise des dispositifs dans l’éditorialisation, et faut-il accorder une valeur aux formes de “déprise” qu’elle impose aux utilisateurs ? Quelle est la marge de l’usage face aux logiques normatives qui structurent l’environnement ?</p>\r\n<p>Afin d’écarter toute essentialisation du fait numérique, le séminaire de cette année voudrait mener ces questionnements à travers l’analyse d’expériences concrètes. Nous tenons en effet à considérer la matérialité des traces et des écritures, en même temps que la réalité des pratiques et des contextes, pour mettre en relief la variété des processus d’éditorialisation.</p>\r\n<p>On examinera notamment comment ces processus sont susceptibles de transformer ou révoquer les sectorialisations traditionnelles (ex : séparation entre les domaines de la musique et de la vidéo, opposition savant / non savant, pratiques marginales / pratiques main stream…). Ce faisant, on s’efforcera d’en produire une nouvelle catégorisation, en élaborant collectivement une grille de description des nouvelles configurations éditoriales.</p>\r\n\r\n<p>Le séminaire est réalisé cette année en collaboration par la revue Sens Public, la Chaire de recherche du Canada sur les écritures numériques de l’Université de Montréal, le laboratoire Dicen-IDF et le CRIHN. In 2007, Bruno Bachimont gives the specific definition of a processus of redocumentation of resources in a digital context and links it to the documentational practices context, specifically in the audiovisual archives field.\r\n</p>\r\n<p>\r\nHow has this notion enriched or shifted ten years later? In which is this term still operational? Is its inscription in the documentary univers to be rethought?\r\n</p>\r\n<p>\r\nWe have invited Bruno Bachimont to come back with us on the history of editorialisation concept and idea, in order to interrogate it on what is called \"the variance economy at the digital era\" and to to better define the the fields to be explored.\r\n</p>\r\n<p>\r\nThe <a href=\"http://seminaire.sens-public.org/spip.php?rubrique13\">Écritures numériques et éditorialisation</a> seminar, that takes place between Montréal and France, is organized by Louise Merzeau, Servanne Monjour, Nicolas Sauret, Michael Sinatra, Jérôme Valluy, Marcello Vitali-Rosati, and Gérard Worsmer.
