D. in Italian Philology from the Ecole Normale Superiore of Pisa in 2001, she worked at the University of Pisa until 2006; was a Research Fellow at the Harvard Center for Italian Renaissance Studies \"Villa I Tatti\" in Florence (2002-2003); then worked at King's College London (2006-2014) before being elected Professor at the University of Grenoble Alpes. "content_html": "<p>\r\nWithin the framework of the collaborative publishing project of the Palatine Anthology led by the CRCEN, a digital space for the discovery, study and appropriation of this ancient and fragmentary corpus has been designed and is currently under development. The platform is designed in collaboration with Perseids and will be open to all, both in reading and writing. It will gather all the established versions and translations of the Anthology, all the handwritten data (including the scholies), and has the ambition to be adapted to the needs of the scientific community as well as to the curiosity of the general public. The major challenge in the realization of this space is the following: how to design a data model to describe the anthological object, the epigram, to present the aspects of a philological work? In order to tag the text for research purposes as well as for wider public dissemination, we are currently working on data models and text ontologies that are key questions for critical digital publishing.</p>\r\n\r\n<p>In association with the Canadian Digital Humanities Society (CSDH/SCHN) and our center, the Groupe de Recherche sur les Éditions critiques en contexte Numérique (GREN) is pleased to announce a two-part event. "content_html": "<p>The CCLA group Matérialités comparatives : Médias, littérature et théorie / Comparative Materialities: Media, Literature, Theory proposes introductive working sessions around the issue of writing in the digital environment. "content_html": "<img src=\"https://f-origin.hypotheses.org/wp-content/blogs.dir/1766/files/2019/10/Capture-stylo-editeur.jpg\" />\r\n<p>The text editor <a href=\"https://ecrituresnumeriques.ca/fr/Activites/Projets/2016/1/14/Stylo\">Stylo</a>, developed by the Chair's team, is now available on the <a href=\"https://huma-num.fr/\">Huma-Num</a> platform, the largest research infrastructure in France.</p>\r\n<p>Stylo is connected to HumanID and accessible to all users with an account at Huma-Num. Its availability via HumanID is the result of a first phase of the joint work carried out by the CRCEN and TGIR Huma-Num teams and which continues today within the HN Lab. "content_html": "<img src=\"https://i.imgur.com/kWjLQV5.png\" />\r\n<p>In a context where the circulation of information and knowledge is now intrinsically linked to digital technology, and where questions about the ways of producing publications are emerging, what strategies are being implemented by the actors who produce and transmit scientific knowledge? What are the new faces of scholarly publishing in contact with the new modes of dissemination, the social and solidarity economy, or the commons? We will answer these questions based on various experiences: collaborative editorialization, open access dissemination, editorial transition, or publishing activities stemming from cooperative societies. Several French and Quebec initiatives will be presented, mobilizing organizational, economic and strategic approaches. "content_html": "<p>Acting in a hyperconnected condition has just been released on the new Parcours Numérique reading platform!</p>\r\n\r\n<p>The last decade has been marked by the multiplication and entanglement of connection modes and areas; with cities and smart phones, massive data collection or ambient internet connection, a large part of humanity is interconnected from (almost) everywhere. This contemporary state in which online and offline spaces hybridize is referred to here as the hyperconnected condition. From the moment this hyperconnectivity is established as a mode of existence, what can be done and what is being done? And how can we think beyond this phenomenon? This book brings together different perspectives on the study of art and images in order to better understand the (im)possibilities of this condition through a critical examination of the materialities and representations produced within it. Digital devices integrated into our daily lives, autonomous machines, bodies and looks are active. City, space and literature in the hyper-connected era\". \r\nDisconnected from the fixed position of the desktop computer, the connection that has become hyper is not only integrated into urban space and its structures, but now takes place through the mobile devices we have with - and on - us at any time and in any place. This text examines the hyper-connected condition from the perspective of mobility, digital literature and urban space. "content_html": "<p>As part of the 2020 CSDH/SCHN congress, which was held virtually because of the COVID-19 related situation, the CRC organized a roundtable entitled <em>Journals in the digital age: thinking new models of publishing in the social sciences and humanities</em>.</p>\r\n<p>\r\n<iframe src=\"https://archive.org/embed/journalsinthedigitalage-2020-06-03\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" frameborder=\"0\" webkitallowfullscreen=\"true\" mozallowfullscreen=\"true\" allowfullscreen></iframe>\r\n</p>\r\n<p>\r\nIn his short story <em>Wearable books, Michael Pidd proposes a dystopian academic world where digital publishing technologies have become a system for controlling, tracing and standardizing research and the epistemological models on which it is based. In this world Pidd imagines revolutionary academics who, in order to guarantee freedom of thought and the possibility of the existence of several research paradigms, decide to return to paper. Indeed, if at the beginning of its development, the Web seemed the promise of a space of plurality, differences and freedom of expression - let's not forget Barlow's declaration of independence of cyberspace in 2000 - today, largely due to the growing impact of GAFAM, we are witnessing a standardization of models and a concentration of power in the hands of a handful of companies. In the world of research this is manifested in a dominant language, crystallized formats, a sclerotic editorial chain, a problematic but questionable system of legitimization, and a growing importance, even in the humanities, of impact factors and quantitative methods for assessing the quality of research.\r\n</p>\r\n<p>Would it be possible to go back to the promises of the beginnings of the Web ? How can we take advantage of the multiplicity of different technologies and digital spaces to make them the basis for free, plural and collective research and dissemination of knowledge ? This panel will ask this question by focusing in particular on the publishing practices of scholarly journals in the social sciences and humanities, and by presenting the research results of the Journal 2.0 project we are conducting as part of a SSHRC partnership development funding.
