Thinking beyond the representational paradigm, the separation between real and imaginary is traditionally based on the possibility of clearly distinguishing between the space of dialogue and the space outside of dialogue. The imaginary differs from the real because it is located inside the space of dialogue. Today, the digital sphere blurs these boundaries between imaginary and real, or, furthermore, it produces an overlap between the two terms to such an extent that their differences become nearly irrelevant.
